These films outline the above ground detonation of nuclear and thermonuclear weapons. The films are from Operation Wigwam, Operation Redwing, Operation Teapot, and Operation Castle.
A historical note about the Castle "bravo" detonation is that the weapon was 3 times more powerful than expected. This caused the biggest nuclear accident the United States ever had. The wind was blowing the wrong direction and a bunch of Navy personnel got fried, along with a Japanese fishing troller and some natives. The deadly fallout contamination area for the Castle shots was 5000 square miles.
